Maria Anna Mozart: historical figure and its literary reception
Shustova, Anastasiia ; Markvartová, Eva (advisor) ; Poimer, Christiane (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines how the figure of Maria Anna Mozart, the older sister of the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, is represented in the literature of the 20th and 21st centuries. The first thing that is explored in the analysis is how the authors imagine her response to life events, the hardships, and the injustices of life. An important role also plays in the interpretation of the relationships within the family of Mozart and the family of Berchtold zu Sonnenburg, the spouse of Maria Anna, as these relationships are represented in the novels. An important part of the work is the description of various typologies of literary heroes as well as the methods of interpretation of the characters of a literary work and the specifics of working with heroes who have historical prototypes. In addition, the work contains a brief description of the life and fate of Maria Anna, which must help the reader to better understand the events and living conditions of Maria Anna, on the basis of which a comparison and an interpretation of the heroine in various works are made. It's a deep look at her character and feelings. At the end of this work shows that although the figures of Maria Anna are different in different works, there is always something in common to find.
